Worship in the Park
The 10:30 a.m.
worship services will be held in the New Goshenhoppen Park starting on
Sunday, July 6, 2008, and going through August 31, 2008. Please note
that the 8:00 a.m. worship services will continue to be held in the
Sanctuary of New Goshenhoppen UCC. Sunday School will also be held in the
Park on these dates.

Rev. Clemens or Rev. Royer will be at the park on several
dates listed below for times together with whoever comes. There is no agenda
other than enjoying the time together, and all you are asked to bring is your
meal and supplies for those with you. It will be as simple or involved as you
make it. Here are the dates and times: |

Women's Fellowship Summer Meetings

The
July meeting
is scheduled for Monday, July 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the
Church Park. Join us for a "Hot Dog Roast” and an informal ladies
get-together. Bring a covered dish. Hot dogs and beverage will be
provided.
The
August meeting
is scheduled for Monday, August 11th at 1:00 p.m. in
the Church Park. Join us for an “Ice Cream Social” and an informal
ladies get-together.

All persons interested in joining New
Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ are cordially invited to attend the new
members’ class that will be held at the New Goshenhoppen Park starting on
Sunday, July 6, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. The class will continue on July 13, 20,
and 27. Please bring a packed lunch. Anyone interested in joining the
class or learning more information is encouraged to call the Church Office

National Youth Event and Mission Trip

Before the
National Youth Event (NYE), New Gosh Youth will be participating in a
mission trip to Eastern Tennessee. We will actually depart from New Gosh on
July 20 for several days of work on our way to NYE. If you are a teen grades
9-12 you are invited to join us! Let Jeanine know if you are interested.

Holy Communion
|

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be
celebrated on Sunday, August 3, 2008, at 8:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of New
Goshenhoppen UCC and then, at 10:30 a.m. in the New Goshenhoppen Park. All
confessing Christians are welcomed at the Lord’s Table---please join your
church family, either in the beauty of our Sanctuary (8:00 a.m.) or in the
beauty of our Park (10:30 a.m. with the bonus of cool breezes).

Vacation Bible School - Evening Session
Confirmation Class
|
The 2008-2009 Confirmation Class
will be underway very soon. This class is for youth who are either 14 years
of age or entering ninth grade this September. This is a one year course
with mandatory attendance. Class sessions are at 9:15 a.m. Sunday
mornings and on Wednesday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will also be
required attendance at our Sunday morning worship services, at special worship
services, and at a retreat. We are also planning special mission/outreach
projects in which the student is required to participate.

An important orientation session will be
held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
Attendance at this orientation session is required for both the student and
at least one parent, preferably both parents, in order to be enrolled.
Classes will begin Sunday, September 7,
2008, at which time students will consecrate themselves to the year’s
program. The Rite of Confirmation will be celebrated on Pentecost Sunday,
May 31, 2009

Jazz in the Park

Women's Fellowship presents “Jazz in the
Park” featuring the RHB Jazz Band on Saturday, August 16, 2008, in the church
park (rain date - Sunday, August 17th).

The RHB Jazz Band is a group of twelve
members from the Red Hill Band. It plays the sassy sounds of the 1940's. The
Jazz Band plays music reminiscent of all the famous bands of that era. |
Good Music,
Good Company,
Good Food
The concert will take place from 6:00
p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The gates open at 3:00 p.m. There will be a dancing
area available for those who want to “swing and sway.” The refreshment
stand will be open and there will be craft tables set up. There is a
donation of $5 per car or $3 per walk-in. Check the information board in
the library or the church bulletin for more details.
Come out and enjoy a lovely summer
evening in our beautiful park and at the same time support our Women's
Fellowship and their good works. This event is the Women’s Fellowship
major fundraiser and your attendance helps fund some of these projects:
MAMA Project in Honduras, Micronesia School Aid, Jamaican Medical
Mission, Neighbors in Need, One Great Hour of Sharing, Open Line, Bucks
County Habitat for Humanity, and Vellore Medical Center in India.
