What to expect
“Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another...” - Hebrews 10:25
When visiting, expect to meet friendly people, many of whom are wearing name tags to make introductions easier. You’ll find people dressed in different styles of clothing, from suits and ties to jeans and t-shirts. Come as you are! If you want to wear your Sunday best, by all means do so, but if you feel more comfortable in casual clothing, that’s fine, too.
We don’t embarrass our visitors by singling them out during worship, but don’t be surprised if someone (or several someones) realizes you are new and extends a warm hand of welcome. If you’re feeling brave and adventurous, we encourage you to join us downstairs in our Social Room for coffee and light refreshments immediately following the worship service. There’s no reason to be shy or bashful here -- we’ll make you feel right at home.
You’re among friends. You’ll even have the opportunity to chat with our pastors, if you so choose. Pastor Ryan and Pastor Cydney would love to meet you. They’re stationed outside the sanctuary doors after each service, so simply say “Hello.”
Worship primarily takes place in our lovely sanctuary, though depending on the time of year, you might catch one of our outdoor services in New Goshenhoppen Park. Worship services follow a traditional format, with adult and children’s choirs and a world-class pipe organ, and normally last between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes. You can see a copy of what a regular worship service looks like by clicking here.
Sermons at New Gosh are both challenging and comforting -- based on the Bible and relevant to everyday life.
If you are coming to a church, we recognize that you probably feel a strong need for something: a need to connect with others, a need to admit mistakes, a need to make better choices, a need to seek God’s guidance and obey God’s voice, a need to belong, a need for mercy and love, a need to serve others and work for good in the world. We share these same needs. We have found our needs fulfilled in Jesus Christ, and we seek to encourage one another as we repent, change, and grow. We welcome you on this path with us, the Way of Jesus.
At New Goshenhoppen we truly mean it when we say, “No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!”
