Music Program & Choirs
New Gosh has a number of musical offerings from singing in one of our Youth or Senior Choirs, to playing a musical instrument as part of our Brass, Bell, or Orchestra Choirs.
Most of these groups meet regularly to practice, while others meet as needed prior to a particular event.
Choirs enliven our Sunday church services, special services, and services held out at our Church park during the summer.
Love to sing? Play an instrument? Check out our musical choirs below. For more information contact our Director of Music, Dan Tuck, at email@example.com.
Cherub Choir is for the youngest of singers! Normally Cherubs begin at Kindergarten age, but if they love to sing, we accept them at Pre-K age! Singers stay in Cherub Choir until 4th Grade. Practice is Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Music Room, September through May. However, they will usually sing once at the 10:30 a.m. Park service in June.
Chorister Choir is for students from 4th grade to 8th grade. They sing more difficult music than Cherubs, learning harmony and singing in two parts. They range from singing choral music to some more contemporary music. They practice on Wednesday evenings at 7 :00 pm in the Music Room, from September to mid June.
This group consists of youth and adults from grades 5 through adulthood. This is a beginner group and a feeder group for the New Goshenhoppen Ringers. It is helpful if you have some knowledge of the treble and bass staffs or have had some instrumental or piano instruction, but it is not necessary. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
New Goshenhoppen Ringers
This group is an adult handbell group that plays music from level 2.5 to 4. Rehearsals are on Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary. They play for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Services approximately once a month and on special holidays.
This group consists of youth and adults from grades 9 and older. The Senior Choir is a core group that sings anthems almost every Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service from September through June. Rehearsals are from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings (except for the Lenten season) and at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
New Goshenhoppen Brass Choir
This group consists of youth through adult members and they play at special occasions and holidays. We currently consist of around 11 players and welcome new ones. We practice on certain Sundays around 11:45 a.m. in the Music Room. The rehearsals are scheduled before a playing event.
New Goshenhoppen Orchestra
This group also consists of youth through adult and is currently a mixture of woodwinds/brass and keyboard but string players are welcome! We practice on certain Sundays around 11:45 a.m. in the Music Room. The rehearsals are scheduled before a playing event.
Sacred Dance Ensemble
This is not a scheduled group but on occasion we employ sacred dance in the service and invite members to participate.
